What is Obzokie Promotion?
Obzokie Promotion is a unique music distribution service that allows independent record labels, unsigned bands and indie music artists to sell music downloads through major online stores such as iTunes, HMV Digital, Hip Digital, Virgin Digital, Yahoo! Music Unlimited and lots more! You always maintain 100% copyright ownership of your rights and Obzokie Music Promotion gives you ALL of the royalties generated by sales of your music.
How does it work?

How do I submit my music?
We ONLY accept electronic files in WAV format (mark all files clearly with artist name and track number) please send us your audio file via http://zshare.com. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT AUDIO FILES VIA EMAIL.
What about album artwork?
Once you have successfully completed your music release details, you must browse to submit the artwork for your audio files.
Please upload artwork for your audio as .jpeg files to us. If you do not have artwork for your music release, it can be provided by our graphics partner, 3dsign Media for the negotiated fee of $50.00 per release.
Do I have to submit a full album?
Absolutely not. You can sell only a single or an EP, if you don’t have a full album.
What do you consider an album?
An album is a collection of 6-songs and up. A single is 1-2 songs and an EP is 1-5 songs.
Do I give up any rights to my music?
Never! You keep 100% of the rights to your music and recordings. Obzokie Promotion is not a record label. We are a distribution service that makes your music available for sale on digital download sites.
How long will my music be available for sale?
Your music will be on sale until you ask us to cancel the sale and remove your release. This agreement can be ended by you at any time - this contract has no time limit or expiration date.
Can my albums have explicit lyrics?
Yes they can. Make sure you clearly indicate this in the details about your release and on cover artwork.
Can I submit cover songs?
No you cannot! ONLY original songs are accepted. We are not responsible for clearing songs with publishers.
How much does this service cost?
Obzokie Promotion charges a one-time fee that is based on each single, EP or album you submit. There is never a monthly, yearly or administrative fee charged per release. Obzokie Promotion does not charge any setup fee per album or per single.
Can you offer volume discounts?
Yes we can. Just send us an email with how many albums you would like to submit and we will quote you a special price.
What does my payment cover?
This charge covers the work and expense of encoding your audio tracks, processing your album artwork and managing your releases with the digital retailers. Obzokie Promotion’s artists and labels always keep 100% of ALL Royalties.
After I submit what happens next?
We work hard to get your music out to the download retailers. You can view a complete list of online retailers here.
Once your music starts to show up at retailers, some stores allow customized code to link your MySpace and other websites directly to your music store. For browser-based stores, such as Tunetribe you can simply copy the URL from the address bar as your link.
How long before my music shows up for sale?
You should expect to wait approximately 3-weeks for your music to start appearing on the retail sites. The time line varies from store to store and is based on the processing speed of each. We cannot guarantee that your music will show up faster so it is recommended that you submit your music 6-weeks prior to your release date.
How much can I expect to be paid?
Most of the retailers are very competitive in what they pay the artist. You will earn on average $6.00-$7.00 for each album sold or 60-70 cents for each digital download song.
Do you take a percentage of my sales?
Obzokie Promotion’s artists and labels keep 100% of ALL Royalties generated from the sales of their recordings.
Please note that ALL international retail stores pay in their native currencies. The banks will handle ALL currency conversions before submission to us, based on the prevailing worldwide daily exchange rates.
When and how do I get paid?
Digital Retailers send payments - Statement of Sales are shown in your Obzokie Promotion account every quarter. You can withdraw your quarterly earnings at anytime electronically via PayPal.
Will I get to see if my songs are selling?
Yes! Your quarterly Statement of Sales is a report of how your songs are selling at the digital retailers. You will be able to check this directly when you login to your Obzokie Promotion account.
How Can I cancel the service?
If you register for Obzokie Promotion to distribute your release, and later change your mind, you must let us know via email no later than 30-days from the date you submit and we will cancel your account. ALL Obzokie Promotion fees are non-refundable - NO EXCEPTIONS.
Do I have to live in the United States?
No you do not, you can use Obzokie Promotion as an artist or label from anywhere in the world.
What Happens if I Sign a Record Deal?
Tell us if the record company wants your tracks removed from the Digital Retailers and we will have them removed from sale.
